The Division of Peripheral Vascular & Endovascular Sciences at Medanta - The Medicity stands for excellence in clinical care, utilizing innovative methods of evaluation and treatment of vascular diseases while also imparting postgraduate education, training, and carrying out clinical and basic research for vascular diseases and its management. It offers the full spectrum of diagnostic and interventional procedures including non invasive vascular imaging using, state of the art axial imaging techniques, the latest minimally invasive technologies for repair of abdominal & thoracic aortic aneurysms and aortic dissection. Management of occlusive disease of the carotid, renal/ mesenteric and lower extremity arteriovenous malformations, highlights the spectrum of contemporary and minimally invasive treatments offered.

Varicose veins, non healing venous ulcers, chronic superficial & deep venous insufficiency resulting from venous reflux are evaluated with color coded duplex scans and offered ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy, endovenous laser ablation or radio frequency ablation for long term relief.

Patients presenting with intermittent claudication are evaluated by Ankle or Toe Brachial Index (ABI / TBI), laser perfusion Doppler (PORH). Peripheral angiography followed by peripheral angioplasty with stent or arterial bypass surgeries are routinely offered for Peripheral Arterial Diseases the incidence of which has been increasing due to the increasing incidence of Diabetes Mellitus /Hypertension /Smoking /Dyslipidemia or High Cholestrol.

Patients with history of transient Ischemic attack and strokes are interrogated by Carotid Doppler Scan confirmed with angiography following which Carotid Endareterctomy or Carotid Angioplasty with stenting under cerebral protection with filter or balloon occlusion are routinely performed.

Tumour embolization, Complex abdominal & thoracic Aortic aneurysms are routinely treated in the state of the art Robotic, Zeego, Cath lab. Hybrid vascular surgeries such as hybrid aortic aneurysm repair combined endovascular & surgical procedures are greatly facilitated by this approach.

Round the clock cover for vascular injuries is available. Deep vein thrombosis & pulmonary embolism are managed with catheter directed thrombolysis and placement of IVC filters.

Charcot's feet as a result of long standing, uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus & patients with non healing wounds and extensive ulcers are evaluated by skin perfusion studies to access probability of limb salvage.

Skilled wound care by specialized ulcer dressing, chiropody, excision of corns and calluses, debridement, nail avulsion, tenotomies are being done to prevent ulceration in foot at risk. offloading insoles, special shoes orthotics are customized on the latest generation fabrication system.

Analysis of Foot pressure with MAT-scan, bipedal in shoe scan (F-scan) system & total contact casts for pressure offloading greatly benefit these "Feet at Risk".
